Physical education is essential to the education of our middle school students. Students develop athletic skills, increase fitness, and play games that enhance their physical, social, and emotional well-being. Teachers and coaches stress leadership, sportsmanship, and teamwork in a non-competitive environment.
Middle school physical education classes meet twice weekly and primarily take place in the school gymnasium. Soccer is the focus in the fall trimester, basketball in the winter, and volleyball in the spring.
Sixth grade students are offered the opportunity to play intramural sports during Friday in-school clubs. Seventh and eighth graders try out for the school Lightning teams that compete in the Middle School Athletic League.
