Homeroom is a key piece of the support network for middle school students. Teachers get to know students in their homeroom very well, and serve as a resource for students throughout the school year. Every student starts his or her day in a homeroom class of twelve students with two teachers. In the morning, homeroom teachers prepare students for the day ahead, helping them with their schedule, materials, and homework. All students return to homeroom at the end of the school day to check in with their homeroom teachers, review their day, and make sure they have everything they need to bring home to complete their homework. Homeroom teachers are also the primary point of contact with parents.
